Gardening substrates

Plant growing media is one of the most important factors. By choosing the right mix, we are able to influence the development and condition of our ornamental trees and shrubs. Plants have different soil requirements. Hydrangeas, azaleas, blueberries, rhododendrons and heathers will require soil for acidophilic plants. For coniferous bushes, ordinary soil for conifers is sufficient. The rest of the plants will be great in a universal substrate. Planting annual or biennial flowers in a specially prepared substrate mix, e.g. geranium or floral soil, will make them grow luxuriantly and bloom profusely.

Garden peat will also work in our green corner. Here we have a choice between deacidified peat and acid peat. The latter is much more often used because of its acidifying properties. Perfect for heather plants that need an acid medium for optimal growth.
