A set of beautiful, decorative heather plants in yellow, purple, and white. The flowers remain in bud form until the frost sets in, retaining their visual appeal throughout. Flowering period: August–November. Heathers are easy to grow. They require minimal maintenance, grow vigorously, and bloom profusely for an extended period—often when most other garden shrubs have already finished flowering. These potted, rooted plants can be planted throughout the season, from early spring to late autumn.
Planting and Cultivation
They should be planted in sunny locations with light, well-draining, acidic soil. It is recommended to use a ready-made potting mix designed for ericaceous plants (acidic peat with a pH of 3.5–5). Avoid overwatering; water thoroughly but infrequently, maintaining consistent soil moisture. Their root systems are delicate and dislike both waterlogging and prolonged drought. When watering, aim to apply water directly to the soil rather than over the foliage to prevent creating conditions that favor fungal growth. Fertilize once per season using a multi-component fertilizer designed for heather or rhododendrons, following the dosage instructions on the packaging. Heather should be pruned annually, but only in early spring (late March to early April). Prune each shoot back hard; this will result in a denser, more youthful-looking plant. Before winter, it is recommended to water the plants thoroughly and cover them with horticultural fleece to protect the shoots from freezing winds.
